✅ Legal basis
Section 3-4 of Norway’s Regulations on the Performance of Work requires the employer to train employees and safety representatives about hazardous chemicals at the workplace, the substance register, risk assessments, work equipment, protective measures and emergencies.
The online course provides general theory. The employer must also tailor the training to the company’s actual chemicals, substance register, risk assessment, equipment and emergency procedures.

How often must the training be updated?
Training must be updated when changes make this necessary. Where there is a risk of exposure to carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive-toxic chemicals, it must be repeated regularly.
