✅ Legal Basis
Section 14-3 of the Regulations on the Performance of Work requires training for employees who may be exposed to noise, including training on safe work practices and the proper use of hearing protection. The action and exposure limit values are set forth in Chapter 2 of the Regulations on Action and Exposure Limit Values.

When is hearing protection required?
When technical or administrative measures are insufficient and exposure is 85 dB(A) or higher, or the peak level reaches 130 dB(C), the employer must ensure that appropriate hearing protection is used. Above 80 dB(A), or when the noise is perceived as bothersome, protection must be made available.
Is an employer required to provide hearing screenings?
The employer must provide an appropriate medical examination that includes a hearing test when the risk assessment indicates a health risk. If exposure exceeds 80 dB(A) or peak levels exceed 130 dB(C), the employee must undergo a hearing test.
