❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Which lift classes does the course cover?
The course covers class 3a (scissor type/vertical) and 3b (boom/articulated). These are the most common MEWPs in construction, industry, and maintenance.
Does the course replace practical training?
No. The regulations require that the user also receives practical training on the specific lift — typically from the rental company or employer.
Do I need fall protection in the lift?
In boom lifts (3b), a fall harness with a short lanyard is mandatory. In scissor lifts (3a), it is normally not required, but a risk assessment determines this.
How long is the certificate valid?
No fixed expiry date, but repetition is recommended every 5 years or with new equipment.
