1. Select the correct area
The application must specify the function, field of expertise, and project category. Select based on the types of work for which the company actually has the expertise and experience to perform.
2. Gather the documentation
- diplomas, certificates of completion, and other relevant education

3. Review the reference projects
Describe what the company actually did, when the work was performed, the scope of the project, and which action class the experience supports. General project lists without explanation provide weak documentation.
4. Have a system in place
Procedures must be tailored to the size and operations of the company. A well-written document alone is not enough. The company must be able to demonstrate how nonconformities, competence, document control, and quality are addressed in practice.
5. Send and follow up
