This online sling course provides a practical understanding of the theory for those who will be securing loads, selecting and inspecting lifting devices, or communicating with crane operators.

This is a 3–4 hour self-paced online course that documents general theory and a passed knowledge test. It is not the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority’s Module 2.3 Lifting accessories – theory and basic practice (G11), which has a standard duration of 16 lessons of 45 minutes and must be delivered by a certified training provider. If the work or the relevant crane-training pathway requires Module 2.3, it must be completed separately. The employer must in all cases provide the necessary practical, site-specific and equipment-specific training and assess that the employee can perform the task safely.

Is this a course for crane operators?
No. The course covers rigging, lifting equipment, and signaling. Operating a crane may require separate training, depending on the type of crane and its use.

Simple practice at your own workplace
After the theory section, practical exercises can be completed locally with the relevant lifting accessories and a competent person who provides guidance and confirms completion. Practise inspection, equipment selection, slinging and clear signalling. A practical confirmation form is included with the certificate and course documentation. This local exercise is workplace-specific follow-up and does not replace certified Module 2.3 (G11) when that module is required.
