Choosing the wrong lifting equipment, poor communication, or misjudging the center of gravity can have serious consequences. This online sling course provides a practical understanding of the theory for those who will be securing loads, selecting and inspecting lifting equipment, or communicating with crane operators.
Practice locally with a qualified mentor
After completing the theory portion, you can practice at the workplace using the relevant lifting equipment and under the supervision of a qualified mentor. Practice maintaining control, selecting the right equipment, securing loads, and giving clear signals. Your employer will document the training and assess whether you can perform the tasks safely. If the training program requires a certified Module 2.3 (G11), this must be completed separately.
The mentor can be a colleague or business partner with the necessary expertise regarding the lifting equipment and the tasks involved. The person does not need to have taken our course. Local mentor training and this theory course do not replace the certified Module 2.3.
This course is suitable for the construction and civil engineering sectors, manufacturing, workshops, warehouses, terminals, and other workplaces where loads are lifted. You can take the course whenever it’s convenient for you—on your phone, tablet, or computer—and pause and resume later.

This self-paced online course, lasting 3–4 hours, covers general theory and includes a knowledge test that must be passed. It is not the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority’s Module 2.3 Lifting Equipment—Theory and Basic Practice (G11), which has a standard duration of 16 hours (45 minutes each) and must be completed through a certified training provider. If your job or crane training program requires Module 2.3, it must be taken separately. See the practical section for information on how local training is followed up.
